This year McHenry County Fair Celebrates it's 75th Year Anniversary!

Who We Are

The McHenry County Fair has been a tradition in Woodstock, Illinois since 1949. At the fair you can see 4-H, Open, and Junior Open livestock and non-livestock shows, educational displays revolving around conservation and agriculture, various vendors from different businesses and organizations across the county, a carnival, and a variety of ground and grandstand entertainment. It is an event for families to come to create summertime memories that last a lifetime.

The McHenry County Fairgrounds, in Woodstock, Illinois, is privately owned and funded by the McHenry County Fair Association, a nonprofit group that consists of 22 Board of Directors and over one hundred members who work hard year round for the success of not only the week long fair in the beginning of August, but for other events that take place throughout the year. The McHenry County Fair originally started in 1854 and closed in 1924. The McHenry County Fair Association reopened on their current property in May of 1949 and has continued holding events on the McHenry County Fairgrounds ever since.

The McHenry County Fair and other sponsored activities would not be possible without all of our amazing volunteers and wonderful sponsors. Through their donations and hard work, we are able to continue educational family fun events for our community. The McHenry County Fair Association’s object and purpose shall be to further the interests of Agriculture through the educating, displaying, growing and selling of all components considered part of Agriculture. Agriculture is the backbone of McHenry County and the Associations purpose is to continue to promote and provide areas for growth. We provide events that support our main purpose and give community members opportunities for entertainment. The Association also is involved in partnerships providing space for other organizations and community members to hold their personal events and activities. The Association’s other main goal is to hold annual fairs that give community members the opportunity to show, display, and conduct contests promoting agriculture and entertainment.

Large boxes and shipments should be sent to the physical address (listed above) with your name, contact information, business, and address. UPS and FedEx deliveries will be found in the office of Building D around 12 Noon. You are responsible for hauling your packages on the fairgrounds.
