McHenry County Fair 2024

Abigail Grace, 2024 McHenry County Fair Junior Talent Contest winner performs Wild Flowers, Wild Horses
Abigail Grace, a nine year old McHenry County local, won over the audience and judges and had everyone clapping along with her upbeat vocal performance of “Wild Flowers & Wild Horses” by Lainey Wilson. Now she’s taking her performance to Springfield, IL to compete in the Illinois State Junior Talent Contest.

Abigail began singing when she was two years old and always loved entertaining a large crowd. At six she started singing publicly and has shared her voice at many local karaoke nights, farm festivals, fundraisers, church events, recitals, senior centers, open mic nights at Stage Left in Woodstock, and performed our National Anthem for a September 11 memorial service. If that’s not enough, she is now learning Spanish songs and has performed with Mariachi and Mexican bands.

Every performance she goes to Abigail is followed by multiple members of her large, supportive family. To them she says, “THANK YOU for supporting me in all my gigs and performances. They are the best, most caring and positive people in my life…love you!”

Abigail also thanks her vocal teacher, Charis Bradley. They’ve only been working together since they met at the McHenry County Fair six months ago. “Since then she has been like part of my family, mentoring and supporting me.”

Does Abigail’s story have you feeling inspired to enter a talent contest but feeling nervous? Her words of advice are “don’t be worried and have fun with it.”
The MCFA wishes Abigail Grace luck this weekend. We know she will do great!
