Mutton busting at the McHenry County Fair is a popular event where young children attempt to ride sheep for as long as possible, showcasing their courage and balance. This entertaining and family-friendly activity provides both participants and spectators with thrilling and memorable moments.

Mutton Busting Rules
- 20 kid limit with waivers in hand.
- 50 lb. weight limit.
- 4-8 years old. No exceptions.
- Participants must bring their own helmets.
- Long sleeve shirt, long pants, closed toed shoes are required to participate.
- Fair admittance and rodeo tickets must be purchased to participate.
- Only one parent/guardian will be allowed in the contest area.
- This will be a website only registration. No on-site or at the gate registration allowed.
- After participant completes their turn, they must immediately return to the grandstands to watch the rest of the event.
- Waiver will be mailed to participant after registration.
Signed waiver must be emailed to mcfaoffice@mchenrycountyfair.com by Thursday, July 31 at 5pm.
