Do you want to raise money for your school group, athletic team, youth group, or nonprofit organization? The McHenry County Fair offers paid volunteer opportunities to help raise money for local community and nonprofit groups. Students can also apply volunteer hours towards school community service hours.
All McHenry County Fair volunteers receive FREE general fair admission and parking.
Volunteer Positions for the McHenry County Fair
- Ticket Booth Attendant/Cashier
- Trash Pickup
- Event Ticket Taker
- Event Usher
Volunteer positions may vary year to year. Please contact the MCFA office if you have any questions or concerns about specific volunteer roles or positions.
More Details
The 2024 McHenry County Fair begins Tuesday, July 30 and ends Sunday, August 4, 2024. Volunteers generally work in four-hour shifts, and we have volunteer shifts available from 7 am to 9 pm daily.
For fundraising groups, the McHenry County Fair pays $10 per hour to each volunteer to go towards their school, community, or nonprofit group. Payout example: eight volunteers working for four hours will raise $320 for their organization. For payment, a check will be written out to the receiving organization.
General Volunteer Requirements
- Must be 14 years or older.
- Must be available for a four-hour shift, minimum.
- Must be available to volunteer between 7 am and 9 pm.
Certain positions may have more specific requirements. Feel free to reach out with questions about the volunteer position you are interested in. Volunteer shifts are generally first come, first served.
Once open, volunteers can sign up for volunteer positions using SignUp.com. Volunteers will receive their volunteer assignment via this software.
Not a fundraising group but want to give back? The McHenry County Fair welcomes individual volunteers looking to give back to their community through in-kind labor.
